Armenian Foreign Minister, UN Under-Secretary General Discuss Humanitarian Aid for Artsakh
Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan and UN Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Mark Lowcock, yesterday by telephone, discussed humanitarian issues and socio-economic issues facing the Armenians of Artsakh.
Ayvazyan, according to a statement released by his office, told Lowcock that the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, forced tens of thousands of Artsakh Armenians to flee their homes.
The two agreed that appropriate conditions should be created to ensure the presence of international organizations, including specialized UN bodies, in Artsakh and that the politicization of the implementation of this humanitarian function and the creation of artificial obstacles for that purpose is unacceptable.
They also exchanged views on the possibility of providing humanitarian aid to the people of Artsakh.
