Armenia’s Criminal Appeals Court today upheld a lower court’s decision to keep Vahagn Vermishyan, former Chairman of the Urban Development Committee, in pre-detention.

The news was relayed to Hetq by Mushegh Arakelyan, Vermishyan’s lawyer.

Vermishyan, detained for over a year, is accused of abusing his official powers, participating in illegal business, receiving large bribes, and committing fraud.
