Artsakh Foreign Minister, OSCE Chairman-in-Office Discuss Settlement of Karabakh Conflict

Artsakh Foreign Minister Davit Babayan, today in Yerevan, met with visiting OSCE Chairman-in-Office and Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde and discussed issues related to the settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.

Also attending the meeting, according to a statement released by Babayan’s office, were Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Artsakh to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Ghazaryan and other officials.   

Babayan stressed the need to resume the negotiation process under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs for a comprehensive and just settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.  

Babayan also briefed the OSCE Chairman-in-Office on the humanitarian situation created by the 44-day war unleashed by Azerbaijan with the support of Turkey and international terrorists.

Babayan stressed the urgency of the immediate return of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians detained in Azerbaijan.

The minister called on the OSCE Chairman-in-Office to take all necessary steps to achieve the full implementation of Azerbaijan's commitments under international humanitarian law.
