Unblocking of Regional Transit Routes Will Benefit Armenian Economy, Says Pashinyan
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, during a meeting with residents of the Aragatzotn town of Nerkin Bazmaberd, argued that the opening of transit routes in Transcaucasia would positively impact Armenia’s economy.
"Unblocking is beneficial for Azerbaijan because it should have a connection with Nakhichevan. It is beneficial for Armenia, because we should get a reliable railway connection with Russia and Iran. It means that our country's economy can change significantly," said Pashinyan.
According to the Karabakh ceasefire signed by the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020, all economic and transport ties in the region must be unblocked.
Some in Armenia have questioned whether Armenia will benefit from such a process.
