Businessman Needs Cash? - Urges Voters to Contribute to His Election Campaign
MP Samvel Aleksanyan, a businessman running for re-election to Armenia’s parliament, is urging voters to contribute to his campaign war chest.
Aleksanyan, who owns the Yerevan City supermarket chain, has opened a special bank account for those willing to part with their hard earned cash in such a manner.
The businessman is running for a seat in election district #7 against Tigran Grigoryan, Vardan Vardanyan and Nikol Pashinyan.
According to financial disclosure statements, Aleksanyan only reported 10.5 million AMD in revenue for 2010.
Such numbers are hard to swallow given Aleksanyan’s business holdings and the fact that he has a monopoly hold on several imported items.
