Armenian Human Rights Defender Shrugs Off Azerbaijani Insults
The Armenian Human Rights Defender’s Office (HRDO) released a statement today accusing Azerbaijani MPs and other officials of insulting Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan.
The HRDO quotes one unnamed Azerbaijani MP as saying, "Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan is an ignorant, overly impudent person," referring to the ombudsman's statements on the rights of border residents of Armenia.
"From time to time, falling into complete hysteria, he makes demands that a normal person would not even think about. "(․․․․) All this testifies to the inadequate behavior of a person with obvious signs of manic schizophrenia," the HRDO quotes another Azerbaijani figure saying about Tatoyan.
Azerbaijani publications, according to the HRDO, accuse Tatoyan of exaggerating the topis of Armenian POWs and thus irritating his foreign colleagues.
The HRDO says that Tatoyan will continue to raise all issues related to the rights of Armenian citizens, especially border residents.
