Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan issued the following message today to mark the Yazidi New Year’s holiday.

Dear representatives of the Yazidi community of Armenia,

I warmly congratulate you on New Year’s Day, Melek Taus.

The friendship of the Armenian-Yazidi peoples with a centuries-old history has passed the test of a common struggle, strengthened by peaceful, creative work and common achievements.

Your contribution to the construction and protection of our country, a common home, is also significant.

Melek Taus brings with it a new hope and a dream. Thus, I wish that in the new year our region is peaceful, secure, and that the severe tribulations remain in the past.
