U.N. WFP to Financially Assist Those Displaced from Karabakh

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, has launched a financial assistance program for people displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia to meet their food needs by the end of June, this according to the U.N. Department of Global Communications.

WFP aids vulnerable people through financial support from the European Commission's Office of Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Government of France, and the Government of Flanders.

From April to June, WFP will provide monthly remittances to IDPs who are already registered with the government and are in Armenia.
