Armenian Deputy Defense Minister: "We're in control of situation"
Acting Armenian Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan told reporters today that the country’s armed forces are taking all necessary steps to return the six Armenian servicemen captured earlier today by Azerbaijani forces along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in Gegharkunik.
Sargsyan had just left a closed-door meeting of the National Assembly on the ongoing border crisis.
Sargsyan said that the Armenian public should be wary of the disinformation being spread by the Azerbaijani media, adding that the Armenian Ministry of Defense is publishing as much news as possible, within permissible limits, on the unfolding events.
He said that the armed forces are “in control” of the situation.
