Armenian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Resigns
Following the resignation of her boss, Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan days ago, ministry spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan says she’s stepping down.
Naghdalyan, in a Facebook post today, writes that it weas a great honor to have worked for Ayvazyan, and his predecessor Zohrab Mnastakanyan, and that she plans to remain active in the diplomatic service.
Ayvazyan, in a farewell meeting with staffers earlier today, accused the government of pursuing a foreign policy that runs counter to Armenian state and national interests, thus forcing him to leave on principle.
Ayvazyan said he could not, in good faith, sign off on any such decisions down the road.
