Pashinyan Says He'll Raise Minumum Wage If Reelected

Nikol Pashinyan, at a campaign stop in the village of Maralik, said he'd wants to raise the minimum wage in Armenia from 68,000 ($131) to 85,000 ($164) drams per month if reelected prime minister.

Pashinyan boasted that his government has built 1,360 kilometers of roads in Armenia during the last three years, an achievement not seen in past ten years before he came to power.

He promised to build another 2,600 kilometers of roads in the next five years.

Pashinyan said he would also raise pensions, noting that the increases made under his tenure are not satisfactory.

“They are so low, it will take another ten years to get to a decent amount,” he said.
