"I Have Honor" Alliance Rep Accuses Pashinyan of Fomenting Intolerance

Gegham Galstyan, a representative of the Pativ Unem (I Have Honor) Alliance, today accused Acting Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan of fomenting intolerance and the prospect of political clashes during the ongoing parliamentary election campaign.

Galstyan, who is on the alliance’s ballot in the June 20 snap parliamentary election, said that Pashinyan, who is running for reelection as prime minister, has nothing to say to the country’s voters.

"On June 20, we will turn this shameful page of history. We will straighten our backs and will get to work. We will wake up in the new Armenia,” Galstyan announced a Yerevan press conference.

The alliance is comprised of former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s Republican Party and Artur Vanetsyan’s Homeland Party. Vanetsyan served as the country’s National Security Service (2018-2019).

When asked about the alliance’s position on Karabakh, Galstyan responded: “We will not leave our Artsakh-Armenian compatriots alone. We have provided sufficient space in our program on the settlement of the Artsakh issue, the security component, and the increase of Armenia's defense capacity.”

Galstyan noted that Vanetsyan, who heads the alliance’s ballot, has repeatedly said that if elected prime minister he would quickly facilitate the return of Armenian captives held in Baku.

Galstyan gave no specifics on how this would be achieved.
