Pashinyan to Former Presidents: "What would you have done?"

At a campaign stop today in Odzun, a community in Armenia’s Lori province, Nikol Pashinyan, responding to criticism voiced by his opponents that he mismanaged the Karabakh negotiation process, rhetorically asked what they would have done differently.

He addressed the question to former Armenian Presidents Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan.

“The 2018 negotiation details have been revealed by Serzh Sargsyan. You already know that a proposal was made to Armenia to return territories in return for nothing. So, let them now state what they would have done given this,” Pashinyan asked.

He said there was only one solution, to ensure the country’s high combat capability parallel to the negotiations process.

Pashinyan also refuted the assertion that there was no food shortage problem in the army before he assumed power.

Pashinyan said that after being elected prime minister he went to the front, tasted the food, and immediately fell ill. Pashinyan said the low quality of food negatively impacted the soldiers’ fighting ability.

Ridiculing their assertion, Pashinyan said the ex-presidents probably meant there was no food shortage issue because the parents of soldiers had to send food and other items to them.

Pashinyan said the new parliament must investigate all aspects of last year’s war.
