Pashinyan Says Government Has Allocated $4.850 Million to Improve Syunik Border Security
Acting Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, at a campaign rally in Goris today, said the government has allocated 2.5 billion AMD ($4.850M) to build eight checkpoints that will house border troops along the Goris-Meghri section of Armenia’s border with Azerbaijan.
Residents of Armenia’s southeastern Syunik province have criticized Pashinyan’s government for not doing enough to ensure their safety in the post-war period.
Pashinyan is running for reelection as prime minister in the June 20 snap parliamentary election.
Pashinyan also thanked the people of Goris for hosting the displaced people of Artsakh during last year’s war, saying his government will compensate them for their sacrifice.
