Polls Close in Armenia; Voter Turnout 49.4%

The polls closed today in Armenia with 49.4% of eligible voters casting ballots to elect the country’s new parliament and, by extension, the next prime minister.

Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission reports that 1,281,174 voters of the 2,593,572 registered as eligible cast ballots.

Here’s a geographic breakdown:

Yerevan: 51.55%

Aragatzotn Province: 50%

Ararat Province: 50.87%

Armavir Province: 44.47%

Gegharkunik Province: 45.47%

Lori Province: 46.73%

Kotayk Province: 50.08%

Shirak Province: 41.24%

Syunik Province: 60.38%

Vayots Dzor Province: 56.5%

Tavush Province 53.48%

1,261,105 people, 48.63%, participated in the December 9, 2018 special parliamentary election.
