LTP Campaigns in Etchmiadzin: No Difference Between Kocharyan and Sargsyan (Video)
LTP Campaigns in Etchmiadzin:
Even though the crowd wasn’t big, that didn’t stop Armenian National Congress leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan from listing the deficiencies of the current regime at a campaign stop today in Etchmiadzin.
Many point to the fact that General Manvel Grigoryan, who serves as the local unofficial boss of Etchmiadzin, is now affiliated with the ruling Armenian Republican Party. Thus, many failed to show up at the rally just to avoid any future problems.
Ter-Petrosyan lashed out at the ruling Sargsyan regime, arguing that it was the logical continuation of the Kocharyan regime that came to power in 1998.
The first president said that one million people had left Armenia since then and that the population in Artsakh had also dropped.
“The population in Artsakh has dropped so much that I am not sure that the people there can defend the country on their own,” Ter-Petrosyan said.
He also claimed that the size of Armenia’s army had dropped from 78,000, when he serves as president, to 50,000 today.
Based on these numbers, Ter-Petrosyan said it was mere fantasy to declare that not one inch of territory should be returned to Azerbaijan.
He pointed March 1, 2008 and charged the current regime as the only one since 1921 that has used arms against its own people.
