Kocharyan Predicts New Snap Parliamentary Election In 18 Months

Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, whose Hayastan (Armenia) Bloc cam in a distant second in last week’s snap parliamentary election, today predicted that another snap election would take place in eighteen months because Nikol Pashinyan’s government will not be able to resolve the myriad challenges facing Armenia.

Kocharyan, at the bloc’s first general meeting, said Pashinyan and his team, buoyed by their election victory, will continue to persecute and repress the political opposition and will not change their government approach.

"It is obvious that this government, without changing its work style, without updating its personnel, cannot deal effectively with the country's problems, because they did not understand that their worldview was the cause of these problems," said Kocharyan.

Kocharyan described the Pashinyan government as problem creators, not problem solvers.
