Baku Court Issues Jail Sentences to Fourteen Armenian Captives

A Baku court today handed down sentences to fourteen Armenians originally charged with “provocative-terrorist acts” after illegally crossing into Azerbaijan on November 26-27, 2020.

Surprisingly, the state prosecutor asked the court to convict all fourteen captives on the sole charge of illegally crossing the border.

Azerbaijani media outlets report that Hrach Avagyan and Gegham Serobyan were sentenced to four years imprisonment and the other twelve to six months.

The other twelve are Armen Baghasyan, Gor Gasparyan, Kamo Sefilyan, Volodya Hakobyan, Gevorg Asatryan, Sisak Yengoyan, Albert Petrosyan, Romik Sedrakyan, Aram Minasyan, Mkrtich Minasyan, Edgar Matevosyan and Yura Karapetyan.

All fourteen are said to be from Shirak province.
