Vanestyan Derides Armenian Government's Karabakh War Fact-Finding Commission Proposal
Artur Vanetsyan, leaders of the I Have Honor parliamentary faction and a vocal critique of Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, today told reporters that the government’s proposal to create a fact-finding commission to investigate last year’s Karabakh war is solely a ploy to conceal the reality of what happened and those responsible for the Armenian defeat.
Vanetsyan said the government has all the means at its disposal, including the prosecutor’s office, investigative and intelligence agencies, to reveal the truth of what happened without the creation of a special commission.
Recently, I Have Honor MP Tigran Abrahamyan told Hetq that he believes the fact-finding commission will attempt to absolve PM Nikol Pashinyan of any responsibility for the Armenian military defeat and will blame the armed forces, individual commanders and soldiers instead.
Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party floated the idea of an inquiry commission on July 26.
