Eleven people in Armenia succumbed to the coronavirus overnight, raising the country’s death toll to 4,979.

6,783 individuals were tested for the virus yesterday and 669 tested positive.

Armenian Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan recently stated that the Covid-19 Delta strain had reached Armenia and warned that young people with no associated health issues were testing positive.

Avanesyan, at an August 27 government cabinet session, said that 1,143 of the 1,500 hospital beds reserved for coronavirus patients are occupied.
