
Prime Minister, Parliament Speaker - Leading More Than "Modest" Lives
RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan – Statements to the contrary, Sargsyan leads a fairly well-off life. There’s the 122 square meter apartment he owns on Charents Street with a private garage. He’s also a joint owner of a 93 square meter apartment on Baghramyan Street and a 134 square meter private house on Vshtouni Street. He jointly owns another private house in the village of Nournus.
In his most recent financial disclosure, Sargsyan reported 3.340 million AMD as annual salary, 143,000 for lecture fees and 12 million in bank interest.
As of March 1, 2012, Sargsyan reported 35 million AMD and $870 in assets.
National Assembly President Samvel Nikoyan – The parliament speaker has reported a 90 square meter apartment in Yerevan’s Mayak district.
Revenues comprised his annual salary of 3.443 million AMD and 2.4 million in dividens form his 50% ownership of NAR Ltd. shares.
NAR is a drugstore company owned by the speaker and his wife. Residents say it’s the only pharmacy in Mayak and that Nikoyan has prevented any competitors in the neighbourhood.
Hetq sent a letter to Nikoyan this past February to get his side of the story, given that we were thinking of writing an article. We received a reply directing us to submit any financial related questions to the State Revenue Committee. Evidently, Nikoyan is giving us the cold shoulder.
