A plane carrying Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan touched down today at the newly built Varanda (Fizuli) international airport.

Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev cut a ribbon marking the official opening of the airport located in Fizuli, a town ceded to Azerbaijan following the 2020 Karabakh war.

Erdoğan, accompanied by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, will return to Turkey later today.
