Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan today, in Yerevan, hosted His Beatitude Raphaël Bedros XXI Minassian, Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of Armenian Catholics.

The Synod of the Armenian Catholic Church appointed Minassian as the 21st Catholicos-Patriarch in September.

Simonyan congratulated Minassian on his appointment and the two, according to a statement released by Simonyan’s office, discussed spiritual and educational issues related to diaspora Armenians and the Armenian Catholic community.

They also touched upon Armenia's actions to solve the problems of the Lebanese-Armenian community.

The St. Elie and St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Catholic Cathedral in Beirut, Lebanon, is the seat of the Patriarchate.
