Artsakh State Minister Meets with U.S. Congress Members in Washington D.C.

Artsakh State Minister Artak Beglaryan, in Washington D.C. today, met with U.S. Congress members Frank Pallone Jr. (D-NJ), Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Jim Costa (D-CA) and discussed the humanitarian situation in Artsakh and the Artsakh’s government’s position to settle the conflict.

Beglaryan, now in the U.S. on a working visit, in a Facebook post, writes that he emphasized the need to increase Artsakh's international involvement, considering the existing security and humanitarian needs.

“I underlined that the recognition of the realization of the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination is of fundamental importance in the final and just settlement of the conflict, expressing the expectation that the OSCE Minsk Group will make active efforts in that direction,” Beglaryan writes.

Attending the meeting in the U.S. Capitol were Artsakh Permanent Representative to the U.S. Robert Avetisyan and Beglaryan’s Chief Adviser Davit Hakobyan.

Beglaryan also visited the Armenian section of the U.S. Library of Congress.

The above photo shows Beglaryan perusing an Armenian bible manuscript dated 1322. It’s the oldest Armenian manuscript in the library’s repository.
