Armenia’s Ministry of Defense reports that twelve Armenian servicemen have been taken prisoner in today’s fighting along the eastern Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Earlier today, Azerbaijani military units, under the cover of artillery fire, advanced into Armenia territory.

"The intensity of the battles has not weakened. The enemy continues to use artillery, armored vehicles, and various caliber arms,” the ministry reports in a statement.

The ministry says that Armenian forces have inflicted heavy losses on Azerbaijani   troops and have destroyed a dozen Azerbaijani armored vehicles.
