Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to halt military operations along their border, this according to a statement released by the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

The ministry says Russian mediation led to the ceasefire agreement.

Fighting along the border broke out earlier today when Azerbaijani troops crossed the border into Armenia.

The ministry has confirmed the death of one Armenian soldier and the capture of twelve.

The ministry says it has yet to confirm the number of wounded Armenian servicemen.
