Mirzoyan, Lavrov Stress Importance of Minsk Group Karabakh Negotiations

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, today by telephone stressed that the Nagorno Karabakh conflict must be resolved under the Minsk Group negotiations’ format.

Mirzoyan said Armenian-Russian allied relations are important to establish stability in the region.

The two, according to a statement released by Mirzoyan’s office, discussed fulfilling the commitments undertaken by Armenia and Azerbaijan as specified by the November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021 trilateral statements.

The Minsk group is a failed endeavor so why continue with it? Azerbaijan achieved more in 44 days of war than the Minsk group achieved in 30 years and all remaining issues will be finalized in the same way after the Russians leave. Azerbaijan has indicated that they will not agree to any extension of the Russians mandate so these separatists have only until 2025 to reconcile themselves to becoming Azerbaijan citizens or leave. Those are their only choices as they will be unceremoniously evicted if they don't do that and no one at all is interested in helping them. Hopeless wet dreams are a staple for the separatists it seems but they need to face reality and act now or they will face disaster when the Russians leave in 2025.
