
Istanbul-Yerevan Flights to Begin Soon, Says Turkish FM
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu today announced that flights between Istanbul and Yerevan are expected to start within a few days.
Hurriyet.com.tr says that Çavuşoğlu announced the news at press conference following his meeting with his Malaysian counterpart Saifuddin Abdullah.
“We have appointed our mutual representatives to initiate direct contacts with Armenia. They will meet soon. Some companies had requested flight between Istanbul and Yerevan. We are evaluating them. Some companies will start flights in the coming days,” Çavuşoğlu is quoted as saying.
Armenia and Turkey have appointed special representatives who will head talks designed to normalize relations between the two countries.
