Departing Yerevan Mayor Thanks Staff for Productive Work

Hayk Marutyan, who was ousted yesterday as Yerevan mayor in a no-confidence vote, today thanked his staff for their productive work during the past three years.

"Our greatest achievement is that the people of Yerevan have seen and felt the changes taking place day by day. This is the highest assessment you can receive,” Marutyan said according to a statement released by his office.

Marutyan praised his staff for effectively confronting the challenges posed by the coronavirus epidemic and the 2020 Karabakh war.

The ousted mayor said his administration pushed through reforms in local governance.

“We went through it all with honor. Mayors come and go, it is a constant process, and the capital of all Armenians, Yerevan, remains. Therefore, we must all serve our capital, build it, move it forward,” Marutyan said.
