The foreign ministers of Russia and Turkey today reaffirmed their support of the South Caucasus “3+3” platform designed to foster cooperation and the opening of transportation links in the region.

Russian FM Sergey Lavrov and Turkish FM Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, by telephone, positively assessed the first meeting in the "three + three" format that took place in Moscow on December 10, 2021.

The two, according to a Russian Foreign Ministry statement, agreed to organize the next meeting of the format soon.

Lavrov expressed support for efforts to normalize relations between Turkey and Armenia.
