
EU, Russia Welcome Armenia-Turkey Normalization Talks
European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar tweeted today that the European Union welcomes today’s meeting in Moscow designed to normalize relations between Armenia and Turkey.

The first meeting of the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey was held earlier today in Moscow.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also praised today’s Moscow meeting and noted that Russia is helping Ankara and Yerevan establish a direct dialogue and hopes that it will be successful.
“Turkey and Armenia have appointed their special representatives [on settlement issues]. Russia helped to reach such an agreement, and we are very pleased that today the first meeting is taking place in Moscow. Our role is to help establish a direct dialogue, I hope it will be successful," Lavrov said according to a TASS report.
