Armenia Hasn't Decided Whether to Attend Turkish Diplomatic Forum

Armenia hasn’t yet decided if Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Special Representative Ruben Rubinyan will attend the Antalya Diplomatic Forum scheduled to take place in Turkey.

Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced that the two Armenian officials may attend the forum to be held in Antalya on March 11-13.

Eduard Aghajanyan (photo), Chairman of the Armenian parliament’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, told journalists today that o a decision is made the news will be publicized.

Aghajanyan said there is no agreement on a new meeting between Ruben Rubinyan and Turkish envoy Serdar Kılıç in the Turkey-Armenia normalization talks.

The first meeting of the special representatives was held on January 14 in Moscow.

Aghajanyan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract parliamentary faction, added that the faction hasn’t decided whether to nominate Arayik Harutyunyan, the Prime Minister's Chief of Staff, to the post of president following the resignation of Armen Sarkissian.

"At the moment, no decision has been made. Different candidates are being discussed and they will continue to do so until a decision is made," Aghajanyan said.
