Armenian HRD Criticizes Facebook for Removing Monte Melkonian Photos
Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan has written to Facebook, criticizing the social media and networking service for blocking the pages of people who had posted pictures of National Hero of Armenia and Artsakh Monte Melkonian.
Tatoyan, according to a statement released by his office, took Facebook to task for harming freedom of speech on social media given that Melkonian is regarded as an example of patriotism, virtue and selflessness for Armenians.
Tatoyan, in his letter, said that Melkonian is referenced in textbooks used in Armenia’s public schools.
The statement doesn't specify when such posts were allegedly removed.
