Footballer Henrikh Mkhitaryan Will No Longer Play for Armenia
Footballer Henrikh Mkhitaryan announced today that he will no longer play for the Armenian national team.
Mkhitaryan, in a Facebook post, said he’ll focus on his career with the Italian Serie A Roma football club.
"After 95 international games, hard work, dedication, unprecedented ups and downs during the representation of my country on the field, I decided to end my competitions as a member of the Armenian national team," Mkhitaryan wrote.
Mkhitaryan played for Armenia’s football squad for the past fifteen years, six as captain.
“My football beginnings were made in Armenia, in my homeland, and I will be eternally grateful to all those who supported me, who trained and educated me, with whom I played, and finally to everyone who contributed to me as a footballer, as a person. Good luck to my national team," the 33-year-old player wrote.
