Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan sent a congratulatory message to the Assyrian community of Armenia to mark the Assyrian New Year, Kha b 'Nisan.

"Let this beautiful holiday, which embodies the awakening of nature, be marked for the Assyrians by continuous achievements and new successes,” the message reads.

Khachaturyan noted that Armenian-Assyrian friendship is based on centuries-old historical and cultural ties.

"Today, the Assyrian community of Armenia is greatly involved in all spheres of life in Armenia, preserving its national image and traditions."
