Pashinyan, Aliyev to Meet in Brussels Today
European Council President Charles Michel will meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Brussels today.
A Council of Europe statement says they will discuss "further ways to build a secure, stable, prosperous South Caucasus for the benefit of all people in the region.”
Speaking about the upcoming talks in late March, Aliyev expressed the hope that they would be effective.
"There have already been several such meetings. We must move forward for peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and sign a peace treaty as soon as possible," Aliyev said at the time
Pashinyan also left for Brussels with the same intention.
"I hope that during that meeting we will discuss with the President of Azerbaijan and agree on all issues related to the start of peace talks," Pashinyan said.
The three last met on December 14, 2021 in Brussels, on the eve of the Eastern Partnership summit.
