Çavuşoğlu Urges Armenians to Take Bold Steps in Normalization Talks

The third meeting of the Special Representatives for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey will again take place again in Vienna.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, in an interview with Turkish NTV today, announced the meeting but did not specify a date.

Çavuşoğlu reiterated his wish that these meetings take place either in Turkey or in Armenia, and not in a third country.

The Turkish Foreign Minister called on Armenia to show its resolve in the peace process and be bold.

"I want to say to Armenia, yes, you can be subjected to pressure. The process is difficult. A segment of the diaspora is against the settlement. But do we still need to meet in a third country? If we do not agree on holding meetings in our countries, how will we take steps on other issues? I'm not saying this to blame anyone, but let the Armenians be a little bold," Çavuşoğlu said.
