Armenian Political Opposition Calls on Yerevan Residents to Join Protests
Armenian political opposition leader Ishkhan Saghatelyan called on Yerevan residents to join street protests today and “decide their own destiny.”
Yesterday, the political opposition announced the launch of civil disobedience to force the resignation of the current government.
Saghatelyan, who heads the Hayastan parliamentary faction and serves as the legislature’s vice speaker, in a Facebook post today, wrote that protesters had blocked several streets in the Armenian capital.
“Dear citizens, join one of these groups or express your grievance in a way that suits you. Do not stay at home. Go out on the street. This is where your destiny is decided," Saghatelyan wrote.
