Armenian Foreign Minister Addresses Atlantic Council; Discusses Talks with Turkey

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, in the United States on a working visit, yesterday participated as a keynote speaker in a roundtable discussion held at the Atlantic Council think tank.

Mirzoyan, according to a statement released by his office, addressed the Armenia-US strategic dialogue, documents signed during the visit, and prospects for the development of Armenian-American relations.

Reference was made to the process of reforms aimed at democratic development, protection of human rights, strengthening the rule of law and the fight against corruption in Armenia.

Mirzoyan described the situation in Karabakh, Armenia's position on negotiations to achieve a comprehensive peace agreement with Azerbaijan, and the role of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs in these processes.

Humanitarian issues that need to be urgently addressed following the 2020 Karabakh war were also discussed.

The participants also discussed Armenia-Turkey normalization talks.
