Civic activists are concerned that the Yerevan Municipality might be preparing the ground for the construction of a cafe on Abovyan Street.

The site in question is where a series of commercial kiosks were recently removed.

Paving stones have been installed on the street just north of the recently completed Alexander Mantashev statue.

The activists are demanding that the Municipality removes the last remaining kiosk on Abovyan and the paving stones. They want the location to remain public open space.
