Turkish Foreign Minister Says Radicals in Armenia and Diaspora Pressuring Pashinyan
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu believes that radicals in Armenia and the diaspora are pressuring the Pashinyan administration to pull out of peace talks with Azerbaijan.
Çavuşoğlu made the statement yesterday after attending the United Nations International Migration Review Forum in New York.
Çavuşoğlu, according to the Anadolu Agency news service, said that Azerbaijan has shown that it wants peace in the South Caucasus and has offered Armenia a comprehensive peace proposal.
The Turkish foreign minister urged Armenia to respond to Baku’s proposals.
Çavuşoğlu did not mention that Azerbaijani troops took up positions on sovereign Armenian territory in May 2021 and have not withdrawn.
