Marriott International, citing US, UK and EU restrictions placed on Russia, has decided to close its corporate office in Moscow and delay hotel investment in Russia.

Marriott International, in a June 3 statement, says the restrictions “makes it impossible for Marriott to continue to operate or franchise hotels in the Russian market.”

The hotel chain has operated in Russia for twenty-five years.
