Armenia Allocates $803K to Reward Winning Athletes, Trainers

The Armenian government today decided to pay bonuses of 500,000 drams (US$ 1,188) monthly to athletes who win first place in world championships.

The athletes will continue to receive payments for as long as they remain world record holders.

Second place world championship winners will receive 400,000 drams monthly and third place winners, 300,000 drams.

First place European championship winners will receive 400,000 drams monthly, second place winners – 300,000 drams, and third place winners – 200,000.

The government today decided to allocate 338.1 million drams ($803,000) in total for monetary bonuses for athletes and trainers.
