Pashinyan, Aliyev Discuss POWs, Border Delimitation in Brussels

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met in Brussels today and discussed the release of POWs, border delimitation and opening transportation links in the South Caucasus.

At the meeting, mediated by European Council President Charles Michel, the two also discussed normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Karabakh issue and steps to identify those still listed as missing following the 2020 Artskah war.

A statement issued by Pashinyan’s office, while short on details, says the two agreed to continue substantive negotiations at the level of foreign ministers on the drafting of the peace treaty. The meeting of the foreign ministers will take place within a month.

The next meeting of the Commission on Delimitation and Border Security will take place in Brussels in November.

Pashinyan and Aliyev are scheduled to meet again in November.
