European Council President Charles Michel, in a telephone conversation with Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today, said he’s ready to work towards halting further military escalation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

The telephone call follows last night’s Azerbaijani military attacks along the border.

Michel, according to a statement released by Pashinyan’s office, said there is no alternative to peace and stability in the region.
