Yerevan Protesters Decry U.N. Double Standard on Azerbaijani Aggression

A handful of people gathered today outside the U.N. Office in Yerevan to protest what they describe as the organization’s double standard regarding Azerbaijan’s military attacks along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

"For a second day, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border continues to be tense. Azerbaijan uses military provocations, and this organization and the international community continue to remain silent," Edward Poghosyan, one of the protesters, told Hetq.

Three of the protesters were allowed to enter the U.N. Office and present their demands.

"Today's U.N Security Council session will exclusively be about Azerbaijan's aggression against Armenia. Our expectations were not met because we thought that today's session would be about the application of sanctions, but it will be only about the presentation and discussion of facts," said protester Armineh Melkonyan.
