
Pashinyan, EBRD President Meet in Yerevan
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today, in Yerevan, met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso.
Pashinyan, according to his office, emphasized the close and effective cooperation formed between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the EBRD, as a result of which many programs are being implemented in different fields in Armenia.
Pashinyan noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of bilateral cooperation, and the cooperation during these three decades has continuously developed and strengthened. Pashinyan said this cooperation has also contributed to the stability of the Armenian economy, including during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Pashinyan, the democratic reforms carried out in Armenia, including the economy, are successfully implemented, as a result of which Armenia has climbed to the 11th position in the world Index of Economic Freedom. Pashinyan said all this will contribute to further economic activation and development in our country.
The EBRD President also expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Armenian Government and added that the joint programs are continuously expanding. Mrs. Basso attached importance to the implementation of projects in infrastructure development, road construction, private sector and other directions and noted that EBRD is ready to expand bilateral cooperation.
At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed various issues related to further cooperation.
