Armenian Foreign Minister Says Azerbaijani Troops Must Leave
On September 19, within the framework of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, a meeting was held between the Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan and the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov, with the mediation of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Mirzoyan, according to his office, underscored that the Azerbaijani armed forces must be withdrawn from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, the use of force or the threat of force is unacceptable, and international mechanisms must be introduced to prevent further escalations. He highlighted the importance of immediate resolution of humanitarian issues, including the repatriation of prisoners of war.
Mirzoyan reiterated the readiness of the Armenian side to engage in the process of comprehensive normalisation of relations with Azerbaijan.
