The Cafesjian Museum Foundation (CMF) has donated a parcel of undeveloped land atop the Yerevan’s Cascade Complex to the Yerevan Municipality.

The site, which has remained an eyesore in the center of Yerevan for years, can now be developed with private funding according to Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan.

The mayor, in a statement today, said the plan is to build a new annex of the Cafesjian Art Museum and an amphitheater on the site.

The Cascade Complex, with its massive staircase with fountains, is a major tourist site in the Armenian capital.
