Armenia: 2020 Artsakh War Inquiry Commission Needs Another Six Months to Complete Work
The Armenian National Assembly today announced that a fact-finding commission tasked with investigating various aspects of the 2020 Artsakh war needs another six months to complete its work.
The parliament announced the commission’s formation in February 2022.
The parliament says it has received “numerous documents” from various government agencies and need the additional time to sift though it all.
The parliamentary opposition has boycotted the commission’s work, arguing that the government will attempt to absolve PM Nikol Pashinyan of any responsibility for the Armenian military defeat and will blame the armed forces, individual commanders and soldiers instead.
